Société Générale is set to become the first major financial institution to list a stablecoin. Named EUR CoinVertible. EUR CoinVertible is designed to be fully backed by euros and aims to provide an alternative to the predominantly US dollar-dominated stablecoin market. The bank envisions its stablecoin being used for settling trades in digital bonds and other assets, aligning with upcoming EU regulations.

HSBC has made a groundbreaking move by adding quantum protection to its AI-powered foreign exchange trading platform, HSBC AI Markets. This initiative, a first in the banking sector, involves the use of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) to protect a €30 million trading transaction, showcasing the potential to secure trades of any value against future quantum attacks.

Initially, the company reported that hackers accessed personal data of around 14,000 customers (0.1% of users), but further investigation revealed a much larger impact.
